Honeymoon Vista room

In addition to the fantastic view and all the amenities of our Vista units these ultra special guest rooms offer our guests the ability to enjoy a hot mineral spring experience in the privacy of their own lushly landscaped garden terrace. With the touch of a switch hot spring water flows with pressure into the jets of the Jacuzzi allowing for a soothing massage of your lower back and legs. The overflowing water then cascades over the infinity border edge and out of the Jacuzzi.

Arenal Volcano Hike tour

A "must do" tour in Arenal for sure! This amazing light hike will take you to the very base of the volcano (still at a safe distance), to witness the magnificence of the almost perfectly conical 5479 ft tall Arenal Volcano. This giant is active since 1968, and even though it has been calmer lately it’s an outstanding adventure.

During the hike, our well informed guides, will explain you all about the volcano: its activity periods, a little bit of history related to it and will show you some landmarks that has left over the years.

We love nature because is always unpredictable and every day surprises us. As an example, our guests in this hike have experienced a close approach to the wildlife of the place. Howler monkeys, sloths, wild pigs and many different species of birds such as toucans and hawks, just to mention a few ones, have had come to say hello along the walk.

Astonishing views, ear-catching information, unbelievable stories and the chance to meet the local wildlife, will remain as your favorite memories of Costa Rica after this tour with Aventuras Arenal.

Horseback riding to La Fortuna Waterfall tour

The length of the tour is approximately four hours; from La Fortuna we have to go 5 ½ kilometers to the southeast. We spend 1 ½ hours to get to the rest site of the horses.

A beautiful example of the Costa Rican country site will be found along the way, cattle farms and agriculture, also the chance to see some birds as oropendolas and tucans. After that you have to walk five hundred meters into the forest to get to the waterfall, which is 70 meters high.

At the base of the waterfall there is a “natural pool” where we can swim in the fresh water of La Fortuna river for about one hour.

Day 4, Arenal - Manuel Antonio

Adventure connection: Transfer to Manuel Antonio + Crocodile Viewing on the Tarcoles River on the way

How many opportunities do you have to see real live crocodiles in their natural habitat? The Tarcoles River, located between Manuel Antonio and La Fortuna/Monteverde is the perfect place for this. In fact, this spot is known to be have one of the greatest populations of crocodiles in the entire world! The crocodiles here are massive, the largest reaching 7 meters long! You will see them swimming in the waters, or sunbathing on the river banks. Prepare to be amazed!

This is a great way to break up this 5-hour drive to the Manuel Antonio beach, because you're bound to see a multitude of wildlife including the famous, huge, 20-ft American crocodiles that inhabit the Carara Biological Reserve area of the Tarcioles River. Keep your eyes peeled for a rare sighting of the Scarlet Macaw and over fifty other species of birds you can see there. Plus, if you're traveling with children, they'll get a kick out of the "Jesus Christ Lizards" that literally walk on water here. The industrial Río Virilla river originating near the capital city of San José later joins the Río Grande to form the Tarcoles River and flows southwest to the Pacific Ocean to the river mouth near Jacó's Herradura Beach. You'll be accompanied by a bilingual guide who will point out the often difficult-to-see wildlife along this two-hour boat tour of the Tarcoles River and into the Guacalillo mangrove estuary. Your whole family will love this entertaining and informative tour at one of Costa Rica's most-complex ecosystems. You're bound to see more crocodiles here than anywhere else in the world!

Our trail system is set in the heart of our jungle property right below the canopy platforms. So those guests who choose to enjoy the trails can still see and cheer on their friends and family who are on the zip line course.

Natural Hot Mineral Springs, Pools and Waterfalls

Las Lagunas (The Lagoons)  Located at the base of the reception building this area encompasses two acres of lush landscaping and an assortment of multi-level sun and shade terraces surrounding twelve pools.Four of the pools are fed directly by water pumped from our Hot Mineral Springs and the other eight are chlorinated but heated to various temperatures by our Hot Springs through a heat exchange system.These pools range in temperature from 83˚F to 103˚F.

Perdido Springs (Lost Springs) is a connected system of trails and seven spring fed pools located within a forest canyon just a short 100 meter walk from the lowest level of the Las Lagunas pools.The trail to these Hot and Cold Springs, called the Heliconia Walk, is lined with 150 different species of flowering Heliconias along with beautiful rainforest trees, plants and vines. In the center of these pools is a small jungle bar called Los Perdidos (The Lost Ones) along with a water flume called the Monkey Slide. These pools range in temperature from 90˚F to 101˚F.
