White water rafting at Savegre River II-III

Pick up: am – Si como No hotel

Drop off: pm approx. – Si como No hotel

This adventurous, family-friendly, full-day trip is a unique white water river rafting adventure with lots of “perks”. You can expect that our world-class, internationally-trained, bilingual guides and safety kayakers will safely guide and teach you how to navigate through this exciting river experience. You and your group of fellow rafters will start slowly and work your way up to an unforgettable yet manageable adventure that will leave you either begging for more – so go on the Naranjo River high-octane trip next – or leave completely satisfied and happy that you experienced one of Costa Rica’s famous rivers, the Savegre.

Starting with a 4x4 ride into the “wilds” of Costa Rica’s tropical jungle with breathtaking scenery your journey begins at “Silencio”. This is a little local village of thatched roof dwellings where you can enjoy a typical Tico breakfast after a “bumpy road” journey, yet before you paddle down the Savegre. Make sure you make your reservations for lunch, and don’t forget to meander through the beautiful flora and fauna of the surrounding African Palm Plantations before you head off into the winding mountains to start the rafting highlight of your journey.

The Savegre River provides Class II, III and IV rapids that are manageable in sturdy rafts that accommodate 2 to 6 people comfortably. Our guides stop at locally known swimming spots and a breathtaking waterfall, if the rafters want a break from paddling, and there is always time to enjoy the abundant variety of wildlife along the river. On most trips, rafters will observe egrets, osprey, toucans, parrots, kingfishers, cormorants, and many other species local to this protected area of the primary tropical rain forest. After a steady 13 mile trip down the river, we wind our way back to the little village of “Silencio” where a well-deserved hot lunch in real tico manner and local refreshments are waiting. Once fed, happy and well-traveled, our now experienced Savegre River rafters spend a leisurely trip home driving back to Manuel Antonio, to ponder on continuing a rafting experience on the Naranjo River or to savor the experiences of your day just passed.

Good for adults and children over 8 years of age who are relatively fit for paddling. Wear or bring sturdy sandals or water shoes, a bathing suit, sun block, bug spray, towels, and extra change of clothes.

Round trip transportation, breakfast and lunch, bilingual guides, safety kayakers, all equipment needed, security, fruits and juice.

*The tour include a meal

AM ATV tour

Pick up: am – Si como No hotel

Drop off: pm approx. – Si como No hotel

Experience the most unforgettable ATV tour in the Quepos/Manuel Antonio area, located just minutes north of the Manuel Antonio National Park biological corridor.

After hearing our safety instructions, drive your own fully-equipped ATV into the rugged mountains, where your professional bilingual guide will lead you through rustic tropical settings. We drive from San Antonio de Damas to see waterfalls and natural springs located in the unique rainforest ecosystem.

During the tour we pass through different types of plantations: teak, rice, papaya and African palm. Your guide will point out interesting facts concerning the environment. We also pass through several traditional Costa Rican towns; this gives you the chance to see a different side of Costa Rica.

About half way through your journey, we leave the ATVs on the trail for a short nature hike through the primary rainforest; with a little bit of luck on our adventure we will see: Titi Monkeys, Toucans, tropical birds. Then reward yourself in a breathtaking waterfall, where you can swim in refreshing, crystalline waters. Finish your exotic journey with a delicious Tico-style meal at our private Ranch. Overall, this is a Costa Rican adventure not to be missed!

Recommendations: Comfortable clothing, bathing suit and towel, sneakers, insect repellent, sun block and camera.

PM Canopy Safari

Drop off: pm approx. – Si como No hotel

Canopy Safari is the oldest canopy tour in the southern zone of Costa Rica. We opened our first tour in 1997 and since then we have never stopped striving to be the best in every sense. Our goal is to provide each and everyone of our guests an amazing experience out in the rainforest. Our tour offers something for everyone; from our thrilling Superman or a tarzan swing, to our butterfly garden, to our walking trails, to our zip lines where everyone gets to sail like a monkey through the canopy of the rainforest.

Today Canopy Safari has a stunning restaurant set next to a pristine river right in the heart of the protected rainforest. Next to our restaurant is our butterfly garden, our serpentarium and our cayman pond, here our guides take everyone on guided tours where they can learn about the amazing life cyle of these beautiful animals. We also have twenty platforms, eleven zip lines, two rappel lines, two suspension bridges, a tarzan swing and our newest attractions: The Superman and the QuickJump. All of these exciting elements are built in a circuit that starts and ends at our restaurant. On our private rainforest reserve we also have a wonderful walking trail system for those guests who prefer to keep their feet on the ground. Our trail system is set in the heart of our jungle property right below the canopy platforms. So those guests who choose to enjoy the trails can still see and cheer on their friends and family who are on the zip line course.

At our restaurant we serve delicious typical style, buffet meals. Everyone raves that our food is some of the best that they enjoy in Costa Rica. We take great pride in this as do our cooks. All our employees are local Costa Ricans who love to share their love of their culture and amazing environment where they live, work and play. Canopy Safari is the perfect activity for everyone, from thrill seekers, to nature enthusiats, to foodies.

Ten nautical miles from the resort, this beautiful island and marine sanctuary, with waters containing vast amounts of coral-building organisms, and some of the most varied and abundant marine life on the planet, is a world-class diving and snorkeling site. Offering good to excellent visibility all year round (it can reach up to 80 feet during the dry season months of December through April), the island’s reefs provide an underwater landscape of caves, cliffs and canyons, and are home to 19 species of corals, including brain, head and sea fans, 60 species of mollusks, lobsters, giant conchs, white-tipped reef sharks, sea turtles, manta rays, devil rays, large schools of jackfish, parrotfish, snappers, damsels, eels, barracuda, puffers, surgeonfish, tangs, needlefish, sponges, sea urchins, sea cucumbers, octopus, starfish, and various crustaceans.

We offer guided snorkel and scuba trips to the island with experienced and knowledgeable local guides. And with the warm waters around the Osa and Caño drawing mating sea mammals and other pelagic fish, as well as resident dolphins, the boat ride to the island affords additional and excellent viewing opportunities. Corcovado National Park tour at the Sirena Station

Located on the pacific side of southern Costa Rica, the 300,000 acre Osa Peninsula is home to the largest and most significant tract of untouched, coastal tropical rainforest in Central America, and the core of Costa Rica’s national park system – the Corcovado National Park and Isla Del Caño biological reserve. This remote and secluded area of the peninsula is known worldwide as a top destination for researchers, conservationists and those seeking tranquility and nature as well as ocean and rainforest adventures. With bi-lingual guides and our professional staff we are fully committed as a team to ensure that your stay with us not only meets but exceeds all of your expectations.

Corcovado National Park

Established in 1975, the 105,000 acre Corcovado National Park is widely considered the “crown jewel” in Costa Rica’s extensive system of national parks and biological reserves. With13 different types of ecosystems in such close proximity supporting an abundant and stunning variety of wildlife, it has been named by National Geographic "the most biologically intense place on Earth”, and has been featured in numerous wildlife and nature shows and documentaries. Corcovado containing one of the few remaining virgin, coastal, tropical lowland rain forests in existence, is an unrivaled, species-rich, botanist’s and biologist’s dream, and a keystone for science, education and ecotourism, attracting scientists and researchers from all over the world.

We offer spectacular day hikes to the park with experienced and knowledgeable local guides. The wide array of plants and animals that hikers may come across include endangered and iconic species such as the Baird’s tapir, jaguar, puma, scarlet macaw, and squirrel monkey, as well as toucans, howler monkeys, two-toed and three-toed sloths, agoutis, giant anteaters, black hawks, spectacled owls, hummingbirds, golden-orb spiders, numerous types of butterflies, coatimundis, spider monkeys, capuchin monkeys, crocodiles, peccaries (wild pigs), 4 species of turtles (green, Ridley, hawksbill and leatherback), snakes, lizards, and insects. If you’re lucky, and depending on the season, you may even see dolphins and/or humpback whales during the spectacular boat rides along the coastline to and from the park.

Please note the following in regards to the Corcovado tours:

  • Park fees are included in the tour price.
  • As access to the park is limited, we highly advise booking these tours as early as possible to ensure availability.

The Sirena Ranger and Biological Station is the headquarters and largest of the four stations in the Corcovado National Park, providing support for academic research, park improvement and conservation activities. Located in the heart of the park within the Corcovado Basin, its remoteness provides the greatest abundance of wildlife of all types, making it the best destination to maximize viewing opportunities.

Guests are picked up from the Copa De Arbol beach for an approximately one hour boat ride to a beach near the Sirena Station. There is a wet landing, and once on the beach, you will have the opportunity to change into more appropriate footwear. The day includes hiking along park trails and stream beds, with your guide pointing out all of the dazzling wildlife and allowing plenty of time for photographs, a bag lunch and short rest at the station. The standard hike for this tour is on fairly flat ground, however, at times, our guests have been treated to trails which are not normally open to the public. These are a bit more physically challenging, but the guide will always assess the group before undertaking more challenging trails.

DURATION: 6-7 hours

WHAT TO BRING:  secure sandals, tennis shoes or hiking boots (depending on the tide, you may have to walk across the wet / rocky reef), lightweight long pants, hat, bathing suit, sunscreen, insect repellent, camera, extra water)
