Descriptions:

Day 1               ARRIVAL

Arrival at the International Airport Juan Santamaria. Meet your Bilingual Guide

Private Transfer to your hotel in Downtown San Jose.

City Tour during the afternoon ( depending of arrival time)

We will begin to the West of the city visiting La Sabana Metropolitan Park, Art Museum (old control towel of the principal Airport of San Jose) Nunciatura Apostólica Mr. Oscar Arias residence who won a Nobel Peace Prize in 1987 and actual president of Costa Rica, Los Yoses and Rohrmoser neighborhoods. The  this visit will  take you through the Old Train Station and the National Park. We will stop at the National Monument in the National Park. You will see very close the Congress Building, National Library and one of the principal buildings "Tribunal Supremo de Elecciones".    We will continue through the Morazan Park, Metallic building School, Insurance Institute, España Park, The Yellow House and through SENAC or old factory of alcoholic beverages. Next close the Central Park of San José, Melico Salazar Museum and the Metropolitan Cathedral.

Day 2            PACUARE RIVER RAFTING CLASS III-IV

On this Pacuare river  2 Days Trip, you'll enjoy one of the most amazing rainforest experiences possible - breathtaking beauty far removed from civilization's rush and heart-pounding excitement. It is certain to be a highlight of your stay in Costa Rica.

The Pacuare River is one of the top five rafting rivers in the world for its scenery and rapids. This tropical river is a trip of pure magic, unsurpassed beauty, wildlife and exhilarating rapids.

You'll depart San José early in the morning, stopping for a delicious breakfast.

Once at the river, your friendly and professional guides will load your gear into dry bags, prepare the equipment and give you complete safety and paddle instruction. The first day's Class III rapids welcome you to the Pacuare gorge's charm as you raft deep in the heart of primary rainforest. While your guides prepare you a hearty picnic lunch on the riverbank, you'll be led through the jungle to an enchanting waterfall and pool to swim.

Before you know it, you'll arrive at the award-winning  Lodge where you can spend the afternoon relaxing, hiking, canopy tour or soaking in our waterfall and pools. Nestled in the jungle on our 1,000-acre private reserve, the lodge offers you all the comforts you need in "Cabecar Indian" style bungalows. Private single and double rooms are spacious with clean linen, and there are modern bathrooms and showers. Electricity is generated by a self-sufficient hydro-plant. Happy Hour will put you in the mood for a tropical evening, followed by a luscious candlelight dinner with wine served by your guides.

Day 3                       PACUARE RIVER - ARENAL

After a hearty breakfast and loading the rafts, you'll prepare to paddle down the Pacuare gorge past gushing waterfalls, serene pools and pounding rapids. A snack stop by the riverside lets you explore more waterfalls and natural waterslides. An adrenaline-packed afternoon running rapids like Upper and Lower Huacas, Cimarron, Dos Montañas and many more, will have you cheering ecstatically. Hot lunch will be served at the Operations Center. Showers, changing rooms, cold and hot drinks and snacks are also available.

After Lunch we will begin our trip to Arenal, one of the most popular volcanoes of the country.

At the Arenal Paraíso hotel you can enjoy a peacefully and quiet atmosphere with the best view of the majestic Arenal Volcano. From a height of 1,633 meters above sea level, the volcano erupts rocks, fire and lava over its upper slopes. Here the natural beauty of the rain forest with its great variety of exotic plants, animals and birds of tremendous beauty, merges with the magnificence of one of the most active volcanoes in the world.  Really the best place to enjoy the the peace and nature.

Day 4            ARENAL VOLCANO AND TABACON HOT SPRINGS

The Arenal Volcano tour transports guests to the active northwest side of the volcano. The tour begins with a hike and depending upon which side of the volcano the lava is flowing, we go either to the trail "Los Tucanes" at the National Park or Mirador El Silencio. It is possible to observe a great variety of plants, wildlife, magnificent lava rock formations and the Arenal Lake just in time for sunset!  During the tour, our experienced guide will provide interesting and educational information regarding the history of the majestic mountain and the Arenal Volcano National Park. The tour concludes with a relaxing stop at the mineral hotsprings of Tabacon. Dinner at 8:30 pm.
