Day 1       Arrival

Arrival at the International Airport Juan Santamaría, transfer to your Hotel.

Day 2       Monteverde Cloudy Forest .  Canopy Tour and Walk Ways

Pick up Car Rental 4x4 for One Week in the morning. Drive to Monteverde through the wild mountains of Costa Rica . 

This is the home and first location of THE Original CANOPY TOUR and is situated in the heart of the cloud forest, located in the private reserve of the Cloud Forest Lodge. To start the Tour we will game an explanation of the equipment and then start the 15 minutes guided hike through the cloud forest up to the first platform where we can see the real beauty of the area. Te Tour consists of 11 observation platforms, 8 horizontal traverses, 2 short observation walkways and 2 rappels. Once on the platforms the clients slide from platform to platform, assisted by our expert personnel, and then rappel back to the forest floor. Included in the Tour is a climb up a 7 meter rope ladder through the middle of a huge strangler fig. The platforms vary in height from 7 to 25 meters above the forest floor and in areas the traverses are more than 50 meters high. The cloud forest generally has several layers to the canopy, which can all be seen on the Tour.The climate in the Monteverde area is normally warm to cool. Shorts can be worn, but jeans are comfortable as well and hiking boots and a windbreaker are a good idea, as it rains frequently. Insect repellent, camera and binoculars are recommended. The tour lasts about 2 - 2/12 hours.


The Walk Ways are a combination of suspension bridges and platforms built in the cloud forest of Monteverde that offers an opportunity to explore the forest canopy in a safe and easy manner. The tour includes 2.5 kilometers of trails and six suspension bridges across deep canyons at the level of the treetops. The longest bridge is about 243 meters in length.´Skywalk allows a vision of the forest from a different perspective, which stars with a walk on the ground through the forest, and takes you up to explore the tops of the trees.

Day 4       Arenal Volcano Hike and Hotsprings "Ecotermales"

The Arenal Volcano is active since 1968, it constantly ejects gases, water, fumaroles and explosions with pyroclastic material emissions, and sometimes the eruptions are accompanied with powerful thunders. The ash is carried by the wind over long distances especially to the northwest area of the volcano.  The biggest and heaviest material falls close to the crater. The lava flows come out of the crater with a temperature up to 1 000 Centigrade.  As the lava flows down it slowly cools off.  A short hike in one of the trails close to the volcano area will give us the chance to enjoy some forest and the activity around it.  At the hot springs our customers can enjoy a healthy and relaxing soak, it is also possible to see the Arenal Volcano erupting from a comfortable spa.  With the improvement of the road from Quesada City to La Fortuna, the number of local and foreign visitors has increased.  Today it is possible to find all kinds of tourist facilities and the friendliness of the people in La Fortuna.

Day 5       At Leisure in Arenal Volcano

Enjoy this day exploring by yourself the typical town La Fortuna or taking one of our optional tours at the zone: Original Canopy Tour, Nature hikes, Waterfall Rappeling, Horseback riding, Floating, etc.

Day 6       Manuel Antonio National Park

Drive to Manuel Antonio .  Admire the Pacific Coast always at your right side! Manuel Antonio National Park is also one of the most popular ones due to its lovely forest-backed tropical beaches, impressive rocky headlands with ocean and island views, and vibrant wildlife. A well-maintained trail network allows visitors to witness the unspoiled primary forest that grows along the high tide mark. Over 350 species of birds are reported in the park and surrounded area, and a variety of lizards, snakes, iguanas, monkeys, sloths, butterflies and other animals might be observed.

We suggest taking some of the tours in the area: sport fishing, scuba diving, ocean kayaks, snorkeling, wildlife watching, bike rental, canopy tours, birdwatching, river rafting, sunset sailing and horseback riding among others.

Day 7      Whale and Dolphin Sunset Tour in  Manuel Antonio

Cruise to one of Manuel Antonio 's great snorkeling reefs. Submerge beneath the tropical waters and enjoy the wonders of this undersea paradise. Learn basic snorkeling techniques from our professionally-trained guides and enjoy a tasty brunch of exotic fruits, fresh tuna salad, snacks and drinks. Learn the history of the park and the Quepoa Indians. Passing the local islands will give you the opportunity to see different species of dolphins, whales, birds, and sea turtles that inhabit this beautiful coastline. This cruise offers great photo opportunities.

Day 8       Back to San José

Drive back to San José .
