DAY BY DAY DESCRIPTIONS:
Day 1 ARRIVAL
Arrival at the InternationalAirport Juan Santamaria. Meet & greet by your driver. Private transfer to your hotel in San José. After arrival to the Hotel, you can take the rest of the day to relax.
The first day we will run 13kms (8 miles) of continuous class III white water for a total of 14 rapids. Then we will arrive at "Nido del Tigre Tent Camp" shortly past , on time for lunch. Afternoon activities include various optional hikes, fishing in the river, or relaxing in a hammock.
The second day begins with a hot, freshly brewed cup of Costa Rica's famous coffee. After a hearty breakfast is served and we pack our gear, our river descent continues.
All of the class IV rapids are on this day, so now it is time to truly test the skills you learned on the previous day. The second day is significantly longer on the river, with 23kms (14 miles) to travel and about 30 rapids. Two stops are made, one for a nice exploratory hike and another one to have lunch on the river.
At the conclusion of your river descent we will take you to our ExplorationCenter, which is located at the "take out".
The summit of the Arenal Volcano, rising 1,633 meters above sea level and continuously active since 1968, towers far above the northern plains overlooking a wind-swept lake and pristine cloud forests reserves. An incredibly diverse population of wildlife awaits you in this part of Costa Rica.
Driving along winding roads, you climb higher into the surrounding mountains, where temperatures drop to a refreshing 70-75 degrees F. Off in the distance one can see the dark green and blue silhouettes of the Guanacaste and Tilaran mountain ranges.
The ideal way to visit this region is by car. The landscapes as you drive along twisting roads make for incredible photographs. Of the 850 bird species identified in Costa Rica, 600 are permanent residents in their region. Don't forget the binoculars!!
The weather in this particular region tends to characterize itself with warm daytime temperatures (low to mid 80's) and relatively high humidity. There are intermittent rain showers that usually pass quickly. From late February to early May, the rain lessens in frequency which allows for fantastic skyscapes during sunrise and sunset.
All of our guides are highly prepared in safety, costumer service, and nature. They will accompany you at all times ensuring that your so valuable vacation time be filled to your utmost advantage.
This excursion starts seated in an tractor cart, that lasts about 20 minutes, after we arrive at the observation deck we start a 30 to 45 minute natural history walk where you will see and learn about the tropical ecosystems though one of our specialized guides.
Once you are at the first cable, we start the zip line course using high quality equipment which is constantly checked and renewed to ensure its safety and good condition.
Our cables are located in such a way that they start from platforms at ground level
that if a tree did fall it will not produce any time laps in the tour. The cables, 10 in total, span lengths of 200 meters up to the longest of 800 meters; each cable offers a different sensation and experience crossing canyons, observing waterfalls, over the tops of trees or leaving from a spectacular OBSERVATION TOWER 18 meters high. The Fortuna and Pino Blanco waterfalls, along with the majestic Arenal Volcano accompany us on this trek

Day 5ARENAL – JACOBEACH
AM Shuttle Service to JacoBeach
One of Coat Rica's best known beaches, Jaco is a long swath of grey sand streched along a shallow bay south of Puntarenas. It was one of the first beaches in the country to be developed as a resort, and today the town's main street is lined with hotels, restaurants and a variety of shops.
Because JacoBeach regularly enjoys big waves, surfers flock there, boards in hand. However, those waves also create rip tides, so swimmers shouldn't enter the water any deeper than their waist when the sea is rough.
JacoBeach also has plenty of bars, several discotheques and casinos, which keep visitors busy till long after the sun has gone down.
Afternoon at leisure to relax on the beach!
