AM Shuttle service from San Jose to Turrialba Town

At an elevation of 2,118 feet above sea level, Turrialba is in a valley located in one of the last great tropical rain forests, on the Reventazon river; surrounded by coffee, sugar cane, and macadamia farms in the shadow of a dormant volcano.
It is located about an hour and a half east of San Jose (65 km), the nations' capital.

Turrialba services a population of 75,000. In the past it was an important stop on the old highway between San Jose and the Caribbean and for what was called "the jungle" train which was discontinued several years ago after a major earthquake. Turrialba offers universities, several high schools, cultural events and a friendly population of Turrialbenos who'll make you feel welcome in an instant.

The road into Turrialba winds its way through valleys with picturesque views. You can still see the un-used railroad tracks throughout the town. The old station is still in operation as a restaurant. The valley that Turrialba occupies was thought to have been a lake bed a millenia ago and is only 650 meters above sea level.

The Pacuare River is ranked as one of the top five rivers in the world to white water raft. What earns the Pacuare River this acclaim is its eighteen miles of class III and class IV rapids and some of the most breathtaking scenery in all of Costa Rica. You will enjoy the thrill of the rapids, as well as the natural beauty that surrounds the river such as cascading waterfalls and a variety of tropical flora and fauna. We provide experienced, specialized rafting guides, top of the line equipment, and a day full of safe and exciting adventures on the Rio Pacuare

We begin the tour near the little town of Tres Equis located one hour east of Turrialba. Before entering the river, our guides give an important safety talk, familiarizing rafters with the necessary commands and safety instructions that you will need on the river. After practicing all of the commands and drills you will start rafting the river. Shortly after entering, the excitement kicks up a notch as you enter the first rapid, "Iniciación". You will quickly understand why some of the rapids have been labeled their specific names such as Huacas, Dos Montañas, El Indio and Cimarrones

As well as enjoying the thrill of the rapids, we also stop along to way to hike up waterfalls located in hidden canyons and to better enjoy some of the wildlife that we see along the way.

Halfway through the tour we stop at our camp which is located on a hillside in a bend of the river so you have a tremendous view of the Pacuare and the surrounding mountains. The guides prepare a delicious meal for you while you rest and enjoy the scenic views and the various flora and fauna of this region. After lunch, you continue your adventure down the river, braving more rapids and taking in the awesome surroundings. The tour stops when you reach a bridge in the town of Siquirres.

PM Transfer service to Puerto Viejo of Limon

Puerto Viejo is a small to medium sized Caribbean villiage on the Atantic coast of Costa Rica, south of Puerto Limon. Famed for its relaxed atmosphere, beautiful beaches, and rich mix of latino, Afro-Caribbean, and Bribri indiginous culture, Puerto Viejo is becoming an increasingly popular tourist destination.

The town of Puerto Viejo is rustic and charming. The only paved road is the main highway which runs along the coast from Limon to Manzanillo. The rest of the streets are dirt-paved, lined with hotels, restaurants, shops, and Caribbean style dwellings. The people of Puerto Viejo are open and friendly to tourists, and know how to show visitors a good time.

Most of the people in Puerto Viejo speak at least some English, as well as spanish and often Patois (the local Caribbean dialect), so if you are an English-speaking tourist you should have an easy time communicating. Tourists come here from all over the world, and Puerto Viejo is a great place to meet international travelers from many exotic countries.

Despite the recent rise in the tourist trade, Puerto Viejo has managed to maintain its small-town atmosphere and rustic local appeal. Most of the businesses in town are small and operated by the owners. In the streets, local artists and artisans sell their wares. The atmosphere is laid back and slow paced. Puerto Viejo is a great place to relax on the beautiful Caribbean shores of Costa Rica.
